LE (sometimes shown as LC) triggers when Samsung’s leak sensor in the base of the dishwasher detects moisture where it shouldn’t be. Once that happens, the dishwasher turns itself on just enough to drain the water away, and it will keep doing that instead of running a normal cycle until the leak source is dealt with. On Waterwall models, the same code can also point to a blocked water reflector rather than an actual leak.

Samsung Dishwasher Error Code LE (Leakage Error)
LE means Samsung’s leak sensor detected water outside the tub, so the dishwasher drains itself and won’t run a normal cycle until the leak is found.

First checks
- Let the dishwasher finish its automatic drain, then unplug it and check underneath for standing water.
- Run a finger around the full length of the door gasket for cracks, gaps, or trapped food debris.
- Confirm only dishwasher-specific detergent was used, never liquid dish soap or a diluted pod.
- On Waterwall models, check the rotating reflector at the bottom of the tub for anything blocking it.
What not to do
- Restarting a cycle before finding the leak source. LE tends to come back and can soak the cabinet floor underneath.
- Using regular dish soap even once as a substitute. It foams enough to trigger LE and is hard to rinse fully out of the tub.
