Maytag reset procedure
Press and hold Start/Resume for 3 seconds to cancel the cycle, the same procedure as Whirlpool. If that doesn’t clear it, cut power at the breaker for a full minute before opening any panel.
Where the filter and pump are on Maytag dishwashers
Pull the lower rack and find the twist-out filter cylinder in the tub floor. Turn it a quarter turn counterclockwise and lift it out with the coarse screen underneath. The pump sits behind the kickplate at the front-bottom, held by two screws; reaching it means pulling the dishwasher out slightly from the cabinet, a bigger step than the filter check and usually not necessary.
Error codes you might see
Maytag dishwashers built on the current Whirlpool platform generally use the same F-series fault codes as Whirlpool models, an F4-type code for a drain fault that’s staying wet after the cycle finishes.
